Tanabata Festival in Hiratsuka [Ruki's 2013 Japan Adventure]

Hello my beloved followers! ゚+。ヒサシブリィ♪(〃´ω`〃)ゞ。+゚
Long time without write... So sorry!! (人´∩`)
But is time for talk about my travel and Japanese culture ~!
I did many things and went to many places in my travel, but I'll write my memories messily ~

July 6th I went to Hiratsuka (Kanagawa prefecture) Tanabata festival and I enjoyed it so much!

Tanabata is the Festival of the stars in Japan, It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair). This festival started in China under the name Qi Xi, but in the Heian period was imported to Kyoto imperial palace. In Edo period the festival became more popular arround Japan mixing with various Obon.

★♡ The love Story of Orihime-chan and Hikoboshi-kunww ♡

Orihime, the weaving princess, daughter of Tentei (Celestial King), wove pretty clothes near of the Amanogawa (Milky way), she worked so hard day after day because her father loved her works so much, but she was so sad everyday, because she could never fall in love with anyone.
Her father noticed that and He did a meeting with Orihime and Hikoboshi, a worker of the other side of the Milky way.

They fell in love and got marry soon, but once married, Hikoboshi didn't cared for his cattle, and Orihime didn't wove more her clothes.
Tentei watching this, He put a punishment to them, separate them each at the other  Milky way's bank, prohibiting them meet anymore.

But Tentei was moved by his daughter's tears, and agreed that the lovers saw the seventh day of the seventh month.
In the first meeting, Orihime noticed in the Milky Way don't exist any bridge, and started to cry again, in that moment a flock of magpies came and promised to make a bridge with their wings so that she could cross the river with one condition, no rain, If one year rain start in tanabata's day, the lovers should wait the next year to meet again.

The most importants Tanabata Festivals are held in Hiratsuka (Kanagawa Prefecture) from July 5th to 7th July, and in Sendai (Miyagi Prefecture) from August 6th to August 8th.

Tanabata festival have a colorfull decorations, and like other japanese matsuri, a lot of games, outdoor stalls selling food, music...
I bought Yukata and obi for this occasion and I dressed by myself, but July in Japan is so Hot for my cotton yukata! ヾ(;´д`彡

I played to kingyo sukui by first time, I didn't got any goldfish but I enjoyed so much!
I played to catch yo-yo also, Japanese yo-yos are colorful water balloons with an elastic string tied around it so that you can bounce them up and down. I got one but I saw one little girl crying because she fell in the floor, I gave it to her to stop her tears. (●´・з・●)
